How can I update a PS3 video game via storage media?

I have a Gran Turismo 5 and the update is 608 MB, but it takes hours and sometimes fails, I fail to download from the Internet. It is possible to do?

It is inconceivable to download a game update, you must download it from the PS3. You can download updates to the PS3 system through storage media. I had to wait 20 minutes for GT 5. I have something to watch any tv on the objective of the download. It helps.

My boyfriend and I in fact have hundreds of dvd's and video games, as well as cd's. We have a couple of shelves for them, but they don't all fit and they're mismatched.
I've thought of designing and structure a couple of shelving units for them.

What is the storage space on video game consoles for? For example, the ps3 comes as 40gb or 80gb, what for?

You can get an outward hard drive for pretty cheap these days. It'll hook up to your laptop through a USB harbour, and will work the same as an internal hard drive, except you can disconnect it when you don't need it.

I of the 16GB would be better & even if it isn't initially then it would be more beneficial in the long term.
