Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find a good collection of Shakespeare's works?

I young lady William Shakespeare, but unfortunately have difficulty truly understanding his work. I'm wondering if anyone knows where I could find a collection of his works that account for and explicate his poetry/plays. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

The Riverside Shakespeare, published by Houghton Mifflin, is conventionally regarded as the best produced in this country and often as the best period. But it, like any other collection of Shakespeare's works, is one jumbo tome.

NO one can as a matter of fact say for sure - but the consensus of experts over these many hundred years is that it was one person named William Shakespeare. Pax-C

I am having worry now .. is there a secret I am missing? Please, anything would be helpful!

Two ideas: DVDs of timeless British performances are worthwhile, usually those recorded in the 1930s-1960s, of e.g. "A Midsummer Vespers all the time's Dream;" these help give the overall flow of the plays.
