Can state sales tax be applied to a business to business sale of gas?

I am an independent contractor. My client hires a company to fill my gas truck, and trucks. The company gas bill for my patient. My client told me bills for gas, adding the sales tax of 6.75% in total.

Some states allocate the sales tax on fuel. If this is your case, the fee is charged. This is in addition to fuel taxes.
